Understeer
Also referred to as "tight" or as a "push". Understeer describes a condition in which the front end of the car has a lack of mechanical or aerodynamic grip.

Oversteer
Also referred to as "loose." Describes a condition in which the rear of the car is unstable due to a lack of aerodynamic downforce or mechanical grip. Oversteer may be caused by a lack of rear downforce, too much front downforce or insufficient rear grip.
Flag Stand
Green Flag - Signals the start of the practice session, qualification attempt or race and all restarts after a caution or red-flag period.
Black w/ White Cross Flag - Signals that the driver has been disqualified.
Yellow Flag - The "caution flag," signals hazardous conditions on the track, and cars must slow immediately, maintain position and yeild to track safety vehicles until the green flag is displayed.
White w/ Red Cross Flag - Signals that an ambulance is on the course or that medical help is needed.
Red Flag - Signals that the race stops immediately, regardless of position of cars on the track.
Alternating Red & Yellow Stripes Flag - Signals that oil, water, or some other substance has made the track surface slippery.
Black Flag - Directs a driver to proceed to the pits on the next lap and to follow the instructions of race officials.
Red w/ Yellow "X" Flag - Signals that the pit area is closed.
White Flag - Displayed when the leader starts the final lap of the race. During the qualifications, signals that driver has started final lap of qualification attempt.
Blue w/ Yellow Diagonal Stripe - The "passing flag," signals slower cars to yield to faster traffic.
Checkered Flag - Signifies the end of the practice session, qualification attempt or race. The race leader is declared the winner.
